Blog Post Week #10
Blog Post Week #8
This week, we checked on our fast plants, and ours was doing good, but some parts of the flower were starting to die. All of the partners in lab shared their baby they created and it was cool to see all the different creations. We did another activity playing with gene mutations, we had to make a superhero in class. We also did two simulations and I learned a lot about how DNA effects genes. We learned a lot more information about genes and DNA. I can apply the information I've learned to my future teaching to teach my future students about genes and gene mutations. I didn't have any questions from this week about what we've learned.

Blog Post Week 7
This week in the lab, we checked our fast plants, and my partner and I got to pollinate our plants this week with the bees. We learned more about genetic materials and constructed our own sequence of DNA using Twizzlers and Dots candy. We also did a baby lab experiment, where we flipped a coin to gain a specific gene from the "parents" which was my partner and I. We practiced understanding dominant and recessive gene traits and at the end we drew our baby using the features that we obtained through the packet. I was wondering why our DNA sequence wasn't bending like the other tables? I was able to connect what we learned from last week's genetic materials to this week in lab.

What did we do in the lab? We watched a video about ice core drilling and how scientists have been learning about carbon levels in the atmos...
