Science 2: Week 9

What did we do in the lab? We watched a video about ice core drilling and how scientists have been learning about carbon levels in the atmosphere from thousands of years ago to predict future outcomes. We played with a simulator with infrared and sunlight with different greenhouse gases. We created data based on the simulator. We had a class discussion about our findings.

What did we do in the lecture? We started by talking about what's going to be on the test. We talked more about carbon data and levels throughout history. Volcanoes and Sun are natural contributors to global climate change. Antarctica is heavily affected by low albedo levels, melting more ice, leading to a continuous cycle. Grass releases water vapor, leading to cooling.

Textbook: I thought that learning in July 2019 was the hottest month on record. It was crazy to discover. One of my takeaways is how early scientists predicted there was going to be problems with global warming, but still the world isn’t all on board to make changes. Glaciers were talked about heavily in this chapter, I am worried about how the water run off is going to hurt ecosystems.

Questions: I don't have any questions currently.
